FAQ’s
What can I expect from individual counselling?
I understand it can be challenging to take these first steps to start therapy and open up to someone new so I prioritise creating a space where you can guide the sessions at your own pace. My role is to support you as you explore the issues that you want to work through, helping you to find the answers within yourself.
All sessions are held online and are 50 minutes long.
Will I be able to meet you before committing?
Yes! I offer free a 20 minute online session, giving us a chance to get to know each other and see if we’re a good fit. This session also provides an opportunity for you to ask any questions and share what you hope to gain from therapy. It’s a helpful first step to ensure you feel comfortable moving forwards.
How much does it cost?
20 minute online introduction - Free
Individual clients £65
Couples £85
What happens at the first session?
The initial session is an assessment where I start to gather some information about your background and understand what has led you to seek therapy. This is also the time for us to discuss how you’d like to work together, whether that’s open ended, long term therapy or whether you had a limited number of sessions in mind. We’ll explore your goals and preferences to create a way forward that feels right for you.
What is online therapy like?
I have really grown to appreciate this way of providing counselling. Initially, I thought the screen between us might make it harder to connect but experience has shown that really isn’t the case. Many clients have expressed finding comfort in being in their own familiar surroundings which can make opening up feel more natural and relaxed.
I send you a link by email an hour before the start of the session. Simply clicking on the link will take you directly to our session.
