Online Couples Counselling
Initial session
I offer free a 20 minute online session, giving us a chance to get to know each other and see if we’re a good fit. This session also provides an opportunity for you to ask any questions and share what you hope to gain from therapy. It’s a helpful first step to ensure you feel comfortable moving forwards.
Assessment Session
After this, if you decide you would like to continue to work together, our first full hour is an assessment session. Here I will ask questions, inviting you both to explain your reasons for coming for therapy, the struggles you are facing and what you hope to gain. This initial session is also where I start to gather some information about your relationship history, how you met and what first attracted you to each other.
This is also the time for us to discuss how you’d like to work together, whether that’s open ended, long term therapy or whether you had a limited number of sessions in mind. We’ll explore your goals and preferences to create a way forward that feels right for you.
Further sessions
In subsequent sessions, I’ll listen to and observe your interactions, ask questions, encourage you to address each other and help pinpoint the changes each of you needs to make to achieve a healthier and more satisfying relationship. My responsibility is to the relationship itself rather than each individual therefore I make it a priority to give you both equal time, attention and understanding and avoid siding with one party over another.
Every relationship has its own unique dynamic, shaped by childhood and family influences, gender and sexuality, religion and cultural norms. I offer a safe and compassionate space that respects and honours your individuality.
In this supportive environment, we can look below the surface of the dynamics between you, make time for true listening and find creative solutions so that you can move to a healthier and more solid place of relating.
All sessions are held online, cost £85 and are 1 hour long.
